Personal Journal: The Veil

Original Entry Date 3/28/2016: Today, when I was at the gym during lunch, I kept picturing the veil of the temple being torn when Jesus died on the cross.
Matthew 27:50-52 NKJV: And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised

I heard God speak, “What is the veil?” I went on to try to figure out what it was made of and I’m still going to look in to that.
God then put the picture in my mind of a bride getting married and the veil over her face. The husband pulls back the veil when they are pronounced husband and wife. This connects with the veil being torn.
The Body of believers has been described as being the Bride of Christ.
Revelation 19:7-10 NKJV: Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

We have become His so the veil has been removed.
I then heard Him say to remove the veil from my mind and from my heart.
Note 2/27/2021: As I was looking for scripture regarding the Bride of Christ I came to find that some take it as being the body of believers as others take it as the New City of Jerusalem. I think it symbolizes both. As a body of believers because of the scripture above and the depth of our commitment with Jesus, it is a marriage. It symbolizes a city in the following verses:
Revelation 21:2 NKJV:  Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
They both make sense to me. Please feel free to post any thoughts or insight regarding this.

I am a gal who lives in the Bay Area, CA. This site is not meant to be about me but rather it is about what God has shown and continues to show me in His Word and when I am in prayer with Him. I hope these entries inspire you to seek His Face, He desires you to do so and even if you don't think so...it is also what your heart and soul have longed for since birth. Over the years I wrote down every sort of spiritual revelation that would pop out at me when reading the Bible. I thought to myself, "what do you want me to d with all this, Lord?" That's when it hit me! Why not start a blog and put everything He has given you on there. And so I did.

The “veil” is interesting to ponder! It made me think of this verse:
    1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.
=>now in the “flesh” believers “know” in part – but when the “New Jerusalem” comes the Bride-the Body of Christ will fully know — will be fully “married” – “one” not only with Christ but with each other
=>”flesh” of the believers must be “fully” transformed=receive glorified body for the final “veil” to be lifted.
    ***
When Christ’s body was torn-the “veil” was torn opening a “new & living” way to believers

    Hebrews 10:19-20 AMP
    A New and Living Way
Therefore, believers, since we have confidence and full freedom to enter the Holy Place [the place where God dwells] by [means of] the blood of Jesus, 20 by this new and living way which He initiated and opened for us through the veil [as in the Holy of Holies], that is, through His flesh …
=> Christ’s crucified body is another symbol for the veil — lifting the “veil” of access to the Holy of Holies for believers

    *****
The process of the lifting of the bride’s veil — seems to be the process of crucifying the flesh — becoming more and more like him — until the “New Jerusalem” – both the Groom & Bride have their glorified bodies then:
    Revelation 21:4 AMP
    He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.{also no more sin}

    *****
I will ponder this one more!!!
    🙂

Still pondering this “lifting of the veil” -to eternal life 🙂

    Matthew 16:24 Amplified Bible
    Discipleship Is Costly

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].

    Galatians 2:20 Amplified Bible
I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
