Symbolization: When the Jezebel spirit Attacks, We are Not Defeated

Original Entry Date 1/27/2016: (leave a comment below if you’ve experienced this type of demonic spirit during your Walk with God) As we know, there are spirits amongst us, operating either for the Glory of God or for the schemes of satan. The Jezebel spirit is one that is under satanic operation and is sent out to cause division amongst the Body of Christ (this spirit is known to operate on the sly within the church; being in a Leadership role or having a great influence on the heads of the church)
It hates the Prophetic Word and is all about shutting the Prophets of God down. (This spirit will present itself as being holy and highly spiritual; may even claim to be a prophet of God.)
It uses sexual temptation to lead people off track in their Walk; commonly those who are high up in a Leadership role.
There are other characteristics of this evil spirit that you can read about in this interesting document I found online at the following link:

Why is this spirit called the Jezebel Spirit?
This is simply because it portrays itself, in the SAME manner, having the same agenda as Jezebel, herself. This is depicted clearly in the OT.

We are going to begin our read at the portion of Scripture that immediately follows the GREAT GLORIFYING move of God, as fire is called down from Heaven onto Elijah’s sacrifice and rain eventually comes to the land. This put all the Baal worshippers to shame as their god was nowhere to be heard when they called out to him.

1 Kings 19:1-8 AMP:

Now Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets [of Baal] with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me, and even more, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the life of one of them.” And Elijah was afraid and arose and ran for his life, and he came to Beersheba which belongs to Judah, and he left his servant there. But he himself traveled a day’s journey into the wilderness, and he came and sat down under a juniper tree and asked [God] that he might die. He said, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.” He lay down and slept under the juniper tree, and behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Get up and eat.” He looked, and by his head there was a bread cake baked on hot coal, and a pitcher of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. Then the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Get up, and eat, for the journey is too long for you [without adequate sustenance].” So he got up and ate and drank, and with the strength of that food he traveled forty days and nights to Horeb (Sinai), the mountain of God.

Here we see another characteristic of the Jezebel Spirit; it uses intimidation, causing God’s people to have a false sense of fear and hopelessness. It can drain the Joy of the Lord from a person to the point where they want to die. We see this described above with how fearful Elijah became by her threats and how he falls into a dark place asking God to take his life. For goodness sakes! This man just called fire down from Heaven by the Power of our God!! That is how this type of demonic force operates but that doesn’t mean we are in any way defeated by it. The biggest weapon against it is when a Child of God is knowledgeable of its existence, knows how it operates, and is discerning of the spirits. Knowing God’s Word, being close to Him, and always testing the spirits will cause this Jezebel to get the heck out of dodge!

Looking back at the scripture we see Elijah in a state of despair, BUT then we see a Promise from God that is for us today. Just as we become weary in our Walk, being in a harsh spiritual battle and just wanting to lay down and walk no further. That is when Christ will come to us and touch us, empowering us to continue on (verse 5, the Angel of the Lord touches Elijah). This also teaches us that during a battle we need to rest in Christ Jesus, being strengthened by His Presence as well as reading the Word which is symbolized by the bread cakes that were by Elijah’s head. And take a long drink of the Living Water. This is TRUE spiritual sustenance!
Elijah lived off of that Bread and Water for quite some time (another 40 days!!) and the same goes for us, Christ will empower us to overcome all evil obstacles that stand in the way.

What you wrote is truth. We need to recognize this spirit and rebuke it. I use to think that some Christians aren’t aware of how present this spirit is.

I guess because its something that is not really taught in most churches let alone preached.

I learned of this spirit through read the Bible and asking questions with much studying.

Thanks for sharing this. Blessings to you and yours.😇

  2. Holy Spirit says:

    The Parable of the Leaven
    (Judges 20:18-23; 2 Samuel 2:12-32; 2 Chronicles 13:4-19; Luke 13:20-21)

33Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

    Reward of Righteousness

The Lord will take his zeal as his whole armor and will arm all creation to repel his enemies; he will put on righteousness as a breast plate and wear impartial justice as a helmet; he will take holiness as an invincible shield and sharpen stern wrath for a sword, and creation will join with him to fight against the madman.

The creation itself will fight against the injustice and unrighteousness of the Ungodly. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes. 29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

    Oh Lord, look down from your holy habitation and consider us. Incline your ear, oh Lord, and here;

Your holy habitation equals your majestic throne in heaven, God observes all creation from there.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Make his greatness known there and exalt him in the presence of all the living; because he is our Lord in our God, he is our father forever.

The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

His Foundation is in the Holy Mountains
1{A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah.} His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.
4I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.
5And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.
6The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.
7As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.

No one spoke ill of her, for she feared God with great devotion.

This phrase combined saving faith, deep reverence, and sincere obedience to his word “the fear of the Lord”

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

It designates a right relationship with God that begins in the heart and extends outward to all the actions and speech of a believer.

Nature of Wisdom = 21 qualities, a multiple of 7, a number associated with holy things
For in her there is a spirit that is intelligent, holy, unique, manifold, subtle, mobile, clear, unpolluted, distinct, invulnerable, loving the good, keen, irresistible, beneficent, humane, steadfast, sure, free from anxiety, all-powerful, overseeing all, and penetrating through all spirits that are intelligent and pure and subtlest.

For wisdom is more mobile than any motion; because of her pureness she pervades and penetrates all things.
For she is a breath of the power of God and a pure emanation of the glory of the Almighty; therefore nothing to defile gains entrance into her.

For she is a reflection of eternal light, spotless mirror of the working of God, and an image of his goodness. Those she is but one, she can do all things, and while remaining in herself, she renews all things; and in every generation she passes into holy souls and makes them friends of God and prophets; for God loves nothing so much as the man who lives with wisdom.

For she is more beautiful than the sun and excels every constellation of the stars. Compared with the light, she is found to be superior, for it is succeeded by the night, but against wisdom evil does not prevail. She reaches mightily from one end of the earth to the other, and she orders all things well.

Only the entrance of the spirit of divine wisdom can bring an end to fallen man’s enmity with God and flight from God. Since the “fear of the Lord“ is the beginning of knowledge “there is no treasure on earth that surpasses her.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God
1{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
