Personal Journal: Darkness vs. Light

Original Entry Date 2/11/2016: Imagine being in a dark room, pitch-black, with no windows, no source of light. You wouldn’t be able to see JACK! I personally would be afraid to move in such a room because I would most likely stub a toe or slam my shin against any low-sitting furniture in that room.
What happens when any source of light is created? What if the tiniest source, let’s say, lighting a match…the Light OVERTAKES the darkness! That match, even though very small, can give a person enough light to see their way safely out of that darkened, booby-trapped room lol!
Imagine being in the same room and someone lights a candle in the room next door, now what happens? The light source, even though very small, emits enough light that can be seen from underneath the door! It is enough of a light source to see your way out.
It does not matter if the light source is great or small it will cause the darkness to flee. Now if we think of the opposite, being in a room with much light, no amount of darkness can make the room dark unless you flick the switch off or perhaps a blindfold is over your eyes.

John 8:12 HCSB:

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Light outshines the darkness. The Light of God is within us. Don’t let the darkness overcome the Light or actually the correct way to say this is: Don’t let the darkness deceive you into thinking it can overcome the Light. As we just discussed, in reality, it can’t.
