Symbolization: The Throne…on earth as it is in heaven

Funny confession to make here! This morning I felt accomplished as I was at the point of completing this post. I then did a keyword search, looking to see if I has used a specific verse in a different post.
And there it was…the same entry in a post I made back in August! Apparently my check off duties fell through the cracks that day.
Since I had put all that work in to this post, I decided to still share since it has some additional points. I will post a link to the original at the end.

Original Entry Date 1/3/2016: Where is God’s throne? If you’ve been reading my page for the year or so that it has been up, you may recall a post about this very topic.

Let’s read John’s account of where he sees the Throne of God in the Book of Revelation.
We come into the scene after Jesus has Letters written to the 7 churches:

After the vision of these things I looked, and [L look; T behold] there before me was an open door in heaven. And the ·same [L first] voice that spoke to me before, that sounded like a trumpet [1:8], said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” Immediately I was in the ·Spirit [or spirit; C a state of deep spiritual communion with God; 1:10], and [L look; T behold] before me was a throne in heaven, and someone was sitting on it. The One who sat on the throne looked like precious stones, like jasper and carnelian [C a symbol of great beauty, purity and value]. All around the throne was a ·rainbow [or halo] ·the color of [or that looked like] an emerald.

John 4:1-3 EXP

The part that God really grasped my heart and attention with while I read this was in verse 2; John states that at once he was in the Spirit and then he saw the Throne in Heaven.
This connects to what Jesus’ teaches as the Model Prayer in Matthew; specifically, Matthew 6:10:

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Mathew 6:10 NKJV

The word “Kingdom” and the phrase “On earth as it is Heaven” I made bold a way to highlight the connection between the two.
Jesus teaches us to pray for the Kingdom of God (His rulership) to come and that Heaven be brought to earth.
Back in Revelation John envisions Heaven and the first thing He sees is the Throne of God.

Back to the “Where is God’s Throne” question?
In a Kingdom there is a Throne and Jesus reveals where the Kingdom is in the following scripture:

20 Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He replied to them by saying, The kingdom of God does not come with signs to be observed or with visible display,

21 Nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].

Luke 17:20-21 AMPC

Jesus proclaims here that the Kingdom was already present and at work; the very person of Jesus IS the Kingdom. By stating that the Kingdom is within you is directed towards those who believe and have turned their lives over to His Will.
Take a moment and think about that…when we accept Jesus into our hearts, the very essence of God’s Kingdom has entered into our hearts to take residence.
And in every Kingdon there is a Throne and God’s throne is set on our heart.
Jumping back to the book of Revelation, John sees the Throne in Heaven. This connects to what we read in Matthew when Jesus teaches us to pray for the Kingdom to come and for the earth to be aligned with Heaven by His will.
God is doing this through the Power of the Holy Spirit as He brings Heaven to earth through those who are led by the Spirit.
Fellowship with God is of the upmost importance in maintaining the Spirit and mind connection.

Prayer is a form of fellowship and something interesting to point out is back in Matthew right before the Lords Prayer Jesus describes the following:

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Matthew 6:5-6

Notice Jesus says to go in and close the door to pray? When we do so God will open DOORS to the spiritual realm just as He did with John:
“After this I looked, and there before me was a DOOR standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”’ Revelation 4:1

I am a gal who lives in the Bay Area, CA. This site is not meant to be about me but rather it is about what God has shown and continues to show me in His Word and when I am in prayer with Him. I hope these entries inspire you to seek His Face, He desires you to do so and even if you don't think so...it is also what your heart and soul have longed for since birth. Over the years I wrote down every sort of spiritual revelation that would pop out at me when reading the Bible. I thought to myself, "what do you want me to d with all this, Lord?" That's when it hit me! Why not start a blog and put everything He has given you on there. And so I did.
