Prayers: My Light and My Salvation

2/15/2022: Today I am taking Psalm 27 and will read it and pray these words over my life as well as yours:

An Exuberant Declaration of Faith

A Psalm of David.

27 The Lord is my light and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the strength of my life;

Of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked came against me

To eat[a] up my flesh,

My enemies and foes,

They stumbled and fell.

Though an army may encamp against me,

My heart shall not fear;

Though war may rise against me,

In this I will be confident.

One thing I have desired of the Lord,

That will I seek:

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord

All the days of my life,

To behold the [b]beauty of the Lord,

And to inquire in His temple.

For in the time of trouble

He shall hide me in His pavilion;

In the secret place of His tabernacle

He shall hide me;

He shall set me high upon a rock.

And now my head shall be [c]lifted up above my enemies all around me;

Therefore I will offer sacrifices of [d]joy in His tabernacle;

I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!

Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

When You said, “Seek My face,”

My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

Do not hide Your face from me;

Do not turn Your servant away in anger;

You have been my help;

Do not leave me nor forsake me,

O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me,

Then the Lord will take care of me.

11 Teach me Your way, O Lord,

And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.

12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;

For false witnesses have risen against me,

And such as breathe out violence.

13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed

That I would see the goodness of the Lord

In the land of the living.

14 Wait[e] on the Lord;

Be of good courage,

And He shall strengthen your heart;

Wait, I say, on the Lord!

I am a gal who lives in the Bay Area, CA. This site is not meant to be about me but rather it is about what God has shown and continues to show me in His Word and when I am in prayer with Him. I hope these entries inspire you to seek His Face, He desires you to do so and even if you don't think so...it is also what your heart and soul have longed for since birth. Over the years I wrote down every sort of spiritual revelation that would pop out at me when reading the Bible. I thought to myself, "what do you want me to d with all this, Lord?" That's when it hit me! Why not start a blog and put everything He has given you on there. And so I did.

    Lina thank you for this prayer and for praying it over us.
    ***********

    Let the Lord quicken a verse to you and then look at the different versions to see what He puts on your heart=> see the prayer and praise that He brings forth! He showed my bible study group last night this is a way to “meditate” and keep scripture in your heart for the Holy Spirit to bring back to your mind when you need it!

    From https://biblehub.com/psalms/27-1.htm: What “words” or “thoughts” does the Holy Spirit bring to mind?

    NKJV: A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
    AMP: A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the refuge and fortress of my life— Whom shall I dread?
    NLT: The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
    NIV: Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

    => The LORD is my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear{why should I be afraid}? The LORD is the strength{refuge and fortress, stronghold} of my life{protecting me from danger} — Of whom shall I be afraid{Whom shall I dread}?

    A Prayer: Lord, when I am afraid or weak, please remind me that You are my strength, my refuge, my fortress, my stronghold. Let me “run” to You and put all of my trust in You, my strong tower. Thank You that as I do this I will not be afraid and I will be protected and kept safe in You.
    Praise You Lord Jesus! You are my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear{why should I be afraid}?

    From https://biblehub.com/proverbs/18-10.htm:

    NKJV: The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.
    AMP: The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs to it and is safe and set on high [far above evil].

    ***=>The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe{set on high far above evil}.
