Symbols in the Bible Personal Journal Entry: “I Am Boaz and you are Ruth”

Original Entry Date 4/30/2016:

This morning I heard God speak to me. I heard Him say:

” I am Boaz and you are like Ruth.”

I smiled as this gave me the thought of what Ruth said to Naomi when Naomi told her to go back to her homeland:

¹⁵So she (Naomi) said, ‘See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.’ ¹⁶But Ruth said,
‘Do not press me to leave you
    or to turn back from following you!
Where you go, I will go;
    where you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people,
    and your God my God.
¹⁷Where you die, I will die—
    there will I be buried.
May the Lord do thus and so to me,
    and more as well,
if even death parts me from you!’

I had always felt very connected to that verse.

I wanted to understand what He meant by calling me Ruth and calling Himself, Boaz. I sat down and read Ruth 4. In this chapter, Boaz redeems Ruth; just as Christ has redeemed me.
Verse 11 stuck out to me:

¹¹Then all the people who were at the gate, along with the elders, said, ‘We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you produce children in Ephrathah and bestow a name in Bethlehem;

This touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye, I was stunned and asked , “Do You really see me this way, Lord?…..Honestly, I don’t feel this way…”
I looked down to the ground and asked, “Please help me to see myself the way You see me, Lord.”
